Esta búsqueda comenzó lúdicamente, a partir de una inquietud compartida, hace diez años y en este breve periodo de tiempo podemos comprobar que hay algunas de estas placas que ya no existen y algunas de las calles han tenido otro cambio de nombre.

Cochlear dysfunction as an early biomarker of cognitive decline in normal hearing and mild hearing loss

This paper explores the connection between cochlear dysfunction and the risk of cognitive decline in older adults with normal hearing or mild hearing loss. The authors propose using otoacoustic emissions (DPOAEs) as a sensitive tool to estimate said risk. The results suggest that DPOAEs could be an early non-invasive biomarker to detect neurodegeneration and cognitive impairment in early stages.

VolumePeeler: a novel FIJI plugin for geometric tissue peeling to improve visualization and quantification of 3D image stacks

This paper introduces VolumePeeler, a versatile FIJI plugin designed for virtual 3D “peeling” of image stacks. The plugin incorporates spherical and spline surface projections, and we utilized it to conduct peeling on 3D images of both spherical embryos and non-spherical tissue layers. The resulting images enhance the visualization of 3D volumes, facilitating the analysis and quantification of microscopy datasets with complex geometric structures.

3D Nuclei Segmentation through Deep Learning

This study presents a novel approach to Drosophila 3D nuclei segmentation. Our method involves a pipeline that identifies nuclei centers and segments each detected nucleus individually, employing distinct 3D U-net models for the detection and segmentation steps. Remarkably, our technique emerged as one of the top three performers in the Cell Tracking Challenge segmentation benchmark for the Light Sheet Microscopy Drosophila dataset, achieving an impressive final score of 0.827.
